Ignition of a new 1820°C Riedhammer tunnel kiln for RHI Magnesita

On May 4, 2021 the ignition of the new Riedhammer tunnel kiln for RHI Magnesita took place as planned.
After completion of the heating-up process this kiln plant, which is integrated in the factory automation concept via a PCS7 system, will be a main pillar in the production of refractories for high-temperature processes in the company’s highly automated factory in Carinthia/Austria. Thanks to its energy-saving design this new Riedhammer kiln will contribute to a further reduction of RHI’s carbon footprint.

The ignition ceremony was attended by the RHI Magnesita Management Board as well as by prominent local politicians who emphasized the importance of the future-proof investment in the new 1820°C Riedhammer tunnel kiln.

On the same day a report on this event was broadcast by Austrian Television ORF.
